Velma Barfield an American serial killer convicted of one murder, but she eventually confessed to four murders in total. Barfield suffered from multiple personality disorder. Lewis testified that she had spoken to Barfield's other personality, "Billy", who told her that Velma had been a victim of sexual abuse, and that he, Billy, had killed her abusers. The judge was unconvinced. "One of them did it" Lewis quoted him as saying. "I don't care which one." Barfield was executed on November 2, 1984 at Central Prison in Raleigh, North Carolina.

Velma Barfield was born (Margie Velma Bullard) on October 29th 1932 in South Carolina, state of the United States of America. She was born 2nd of 9 children and raised by both parents. Bullard was raised as a middle child and had eight brothers or sisters. Her father, a physically abusive man. Her mother, Lillian Bullard. Her father abused alcohol and/or drugs. She had a head injury as well as a physically defect. During her education she had academic, social or discipline problems, including being teased or picked on. Velma Barfield was sexually, and physically, and abused at some point of her life.
Bullard a heterosexual female citizen of the United States of America. Bullard completed 11 years of school, no degree received. Bullard married multiple times. She had two children.
She was known to abuse drugs.
In 1971 (Age 38/39) Velma Barfield started her killing spree, during her crimes as a serial killer she was known to murder her victims. She was known to kill at both her home and the home of the victim. At the time of her crimes she was living with multiple husbands and her two children, where Bullard was known to work as a serial killer.
She was arrested on May 13th 1978 (Age 45), convicted on December 2nd 1978 (Age 46), sentenced to death by by lethal injection at Central Prison, Raleigh, North Carolina, US. Bullard was convicted on charges of murder and other possible charges during her lifetime. Velma Barfield was executed on November 2nd 1984 (Age 52).

Margie Velma Barfield (née Margie Velma Bullard) (October 29, 1932 – November 2, 1984) was an American serial killer who was convicted of one murder, but who eventually confessed to six murders in total. Barfield was the first woman in the United States to be executed after the 1976 resumption of capital punishment and the first since 1962. She was also the first woman to be executed by lethal injection.
